Time, light, and colour form the foundation of Or Lapid’s practice, explored through an ongoing search for new ways of capturing fleeting moments. Drawing on everyday scenes, the work transforms ordinary observations into painterly forms shaped by shifts of light and tone. Gestures, saturated planes, subjective palettes, and expressive marks create a language where process is as vital as subject.

Her paintings often stage dualities - real and imagined - melancholy and joy, stillness and movement, beauty and distortion, intimacy and distance. While oil paint remains central, she continually experiments with surfaces and media, from canvas to cardboard, clay, or even post-it notes. This restless curiosity makes the act of searching itself an essential part of her artistic journey.
