Collection:

Emma Boittiaux (b.1995) works semi-autobiographically across photography, writing, embroidery, and print to explore collective experience through themes of safety, tenderness, and life’s bruises. Her practice reflects on her relationship to land, masculinity, violence, and intimacy.

Born in Normandy and based in London, her work carries the influence of her grandmother’s linen and the rhythms of rural France. A lyrical tension emerges between the slowness of embroidery and the immediacy of photography, with hand-stitched processes acting as a quiet form of resistance.

Boittiaux’s work invites a slower, more attentive engagement—with the artwork, each other, and the environment—balancing comfort with the unease of the unresolved.
