Abi Joy Samuel (b. 1993, London) is a multi-award-winning interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans sculpture, installation, photography, and painting. Educated across Central Saint Martins, the University of Westminster, the Royal Drawing School, and the Royal College of Art, her diverse training informs her distinctive material and narrative approach. Working often with found objects and skin-like organic materials, Samuel transforms everyday remnants into sculptures and installations that explore themes of displacement, identity, and belonging, rooted in her experiences as a British Jewish woman who spent her early years in foster care. Her drawings and paintings further probe these emotional terrains through layered, expressive self-portraiture. Unifying her work is an ongoing investigation of vulnerability, resilience, and personal metamorphosis.
